Welcome to Sol Equine Bodywork
Using centuries-old, holistic techniques to enhance your equine partner’s physical and emotional well-being.
What is equine massage and what are the benefits?
Equine massage is a specialized form of therapy that focuses on manipulating the muscles and soft tissues of horses and donkeys to help boost the circulatory, immune, and digestive systems; increase circulation; improve muscle and skin tone; enhance flexibility and performance; prevent injury, stiffness, and soreness; relax the nervous system; and promote emotional release and overall well-being. Massage supports and balances equines’ physical and emotional health, making it a valuable tool in the maintenance and care of horses and donkeys of all disciplines and lifestyles.
All equines can benefit from massage:
It helps optimize peak fitness and performance and prevent injury in sport horses.
It helps increase organ, circulatory, and immune functions in elderly equines.
It helps improve trust, emotional well-being, and quality of life in horses and donkeys with histories of abuse, neglect, trauma, and anxiety.
It helps facilitate recovery in horses who have been injured (with veterinary approval).
It assists in achieving optimal health and well-being in all stages of an equine’s life.
Massage is a cooperative modality to veterinary medicine and NEVER a substitute for it!
Meet the Soul behind Sol
Logan Groves is a certified equine massage therapist. She received her certification in therapeutic massage from the Rocky Mountain School of Animal Acupressure and Massage and is currently working on her certification in equine sports massage and advanced equine massage (plus other exciting holistic modalities!).
From a very early age, Logan recognized the extraordinary strength, wisdom, and compassion of horses and the deep connection she felt with them. Horses became her northern star and filled her life with passion and resilience. She is committed to building a holistic practice that allows her to give these incredible creatures a fraction of the comfort they have provided her throughout her journey.
Logan was lucky enough to begin taking horseback riding lessons at the age of four and never looked back. She has been a competitive rider in both Western and English disciplines and currently trains with an international 4-star event rider based out of Colorado. Logan grew up with four rescued donkeys, that she adores and considers her best friends, and has a retired thoroughbred, Kingsley, who has completely stolen her heart and is living out his golden years as Logan’s dream come true. She is thrilled to be making a career out of what she loves most and is excited to provide a unique service to the community she has long been a part of.

Therapeutic massage is used to improve overall health and well-being. It helps the circulatory and immune systems, increases circulation, and improves muscle tone, digestion, and skin tone. It also relaxes the nervous system. The massage involves long strokes and kneading to work on the superficial muscles. Although it can be highly beneficial for horses of all stages, it can especially benefit older and recovering horses by making it easier for their organs to work, improving lymphatic fluid circulation, and enhancing their comfort and quality of life.

Sports massage is a deep tissue massage for working equines and competitive horses. There are two types: pre-event and post-event. Pre-event massage helps warm up the horse by increasing blood flow to the muscles. It prepares the muscles for an event or exercise, which can help prevent injury and promote flexibility. Post-event massage helps relax the muscles and joints, preventing stiffness and soreness. It also helps increase blood flow to remove waste products and promote recovery.
