Welcome to Sol Equine Bodywork

Using centuries-old, holistic techniques to enhance your equine partner’s physical and emotional well-being.

What is equine massage and what are the benefits?

Equine massage is a specialized form of therapy that focuses on manipulating the muscles and soft tissues of horses and donkeys to help boost the circulatory, immune, and digestive systems; increase circulation; improve muscle and skin tone; enhance flexibility and performance; prevent injury, stiffness, and soreness; relax the nervous system; and promote emotional release and overall well-being. Massage supports and balances equines’ physical and emotional health, making it a valuable tool in the maintenance and care of horses and donkeys of all disciplines and lifestyles.

All equines can benefit from massage:

  • It helps optimize peak fitness and performance and prevent injury in sport horses.

  • It helps increase organ, circulatory, and immune functions in elderly equines.

  • It helps improve trust, emotional well-being, and quality of life in horses and donkeys with histories of abuse, neglect, trauma, and anxiety.

  • It helps facilitate recovery in horses who have been injured (with veterinary approval).

  • It assists in achieving optimal health and well-being in all stages of an equine’s life.

Massage is a cooperative modality to veterinary medicine and NEVER a substitute for it!

“Bodywork reminds the horse of something it has always known—how to return to balance.”

What is equine craniosacral therapy and what are the benefits?

Equine craniosacral therapy (ECST) is a gentle bodywork modality that focuses on the craniosacral system—the structures surrounding the brain and spinal cord, including the skull, spine, sacrum, and the flow of cerebrospinal fluid. Using light touch or energy, the goal is to feel and influence subtle rhythmic motions in the craniosacral system, releasing restrictions and improving mobility and fluid flow. Although craniosacral work focuses on the craniosacral system, it can be used to correct imbalances anywhere in the body and create profound physical improvements and healing.

  • It helps release poll, neck, and back tension, as well as tension being held anywhere in the body.

  • It helps improve behavioral changes due to pain or stress.

  • It helps bring the body structure into alignment, often correcting gait irregularities and other imbalances.

  • It helps improve stress and other nervous-system imbalances.

  • It helps equines recover from trauma or injury.

  • It assists in achieving optimal health and well-being in all stages of an equine’s life.

Meet the Soul behind Sol

Logan Groves is a certified equine massage and craniosacral therapist. She received her certification in Equine Therapeutic and Equine Sports Massage from the Rocky Mountain School of Animal Acupressure and Massage and has received her Equine Craniosacral Masters Certification from Tracy Vroom’s CranioConnection 7-course program. She continues to take courses in other holistic modalities as well.

From a very early age, Logan recognized the extraordinary strength, wisdom, and compassion of horses and the deep connection she felt with them. Horses became her northern star and filled her life with passion and resilience. She is committed to building a holistic practice that allows her to give these incredible creatures a fraction of the comfort they have provided her throughout her journey.

Logan was lucky enough to begin taking horseback riding lessons at the age of four and never looked back. She has been a competitive rider in both Western and English disciplines and currently trains with an international 4-star event rider based out of Colorado. Logan grew up with four rescued donkeys, that she adores and considers her best friends, and has a retired thoroughbred, Kingsley, who has completely stolen her heart and is living out his golden years as Logan’s dream come true. She is thrilled to be making a career out of what she loves most and is excited to provide a unique service to the community she has long been a part of.

Services

Each session is completely tailored to the individual horse. No two bodies—or stories—are the same, so no two sessions are either. Logan will draw from a range of modalities, selecting the techniques that best support your horse on that particular day. The goal is always the same: to meet the horse exactly where it is, listen to what its body is asking for, and provide the most effective pathway toward comfort, balance, and ease of movement.

Cost of each session is $80

Prices cover a 25 mile radius. There is a $15 travel charge between 25 and 50 miles, and a $30 travel charge between 50 and 75 miles. For distances greater than 75 miles, please call for a travel surcharge estimate.
